Volunteering Opportunities with Fermanagh Community Transport

“Volunteering is the commitment of time and energy for the benefit of society and the community; the environment; or individuals outside one's immediate family.  It is undertaken freely and by choice, without concern for financial gain.” Fermanagh Community Transport value and appreciate the contribution our volunteers social car drivers make to our organisation. We recognise that Volunteers play a key role in all aspects of our organisation and play an important role alongside paid staff.

Volunteers bring local knowledge, experience, loyalty and care to our services. We have 14 volunteer social car drivers which we use to bring our members on journeys throughout Fermanagh.  Our volunteer social car drivers bring benefit to our organisation through increased capacity and to our members through personal service. The Volunteers themselves benefit through training which enhances their skills and experience. Training provided includes the MIDAS qualification, Passenger Assistance Training Scheme (PATs), driving instruction, Child Protection training etc. Fermanagh Community Transport recognise that Volunteers play a key role in all aspects of our organisation and play a distinctive role alongside paid staff.
