Every year, social car scheme volunteer drivers play a vital role in delivering thousands of visits for members of Fermanagh Community Transport right across County Fermanagh. The volunteers who provide the social car scheme through the use of their own private vehicles help individuals attend vital hospital and GP appointments, visit family and friends, socialise, go shopping and attend recreation and leisure activities and luncheon clubs.
Do you like helping people, driving and have some spare time, then why not get in touch for an informal chat to see if being a volunteer driver on the Social Car Scheme is for you? We are always keen to hear from people who are passionate about helping others. We welcome volunteers from all areas in Fermanagh.
Volunteer Drivers are reimbursed legitimate out-of-pocket expenses which cover the cost of fuel and wear and tear on their vehicle. Presently, Social Car Scheme Volunteer Drivers receive 45p per mile without a passsenger and 50p per mile with a passenger.
Social Car Scheme Volunteer Drivers are provided with the necessary initial and ongoing training and support to help them assist passengers with various mobility and accessibility issues.
